Tagcash was formed in early 2014 with the intention of helping make the Philippines cashless by building a mobile Ewallet. It has grown since to become a fintech enabled super app, with services offered to individuals, businesses and developers.

The company was founded by Mark Vernon, a british born IT entrepreneur who started his first IT business in 1989 and created online businesses such as The Virtual Training Company (vtc.com) and iplotz.com, and on moving to Philippines in 2012, started getting involved with the Fintech scene there. He now spends his time between Europe and Philippines, building bridges between both. Mark featured as an investor judge on The Final Pitch seasons 3 and 4 on CNN and has invested in many Philippines based startups. He also co-founded and is the Vice Chairman of the Fintech Philippines Association in 2017.
Tagcash is run by Ayse de la Rosa (CEO) and Chrystelle Villanueva (CFO), with a team of 20 admin and sales people, and 15 developers
Tagcash is authorised as an Electronic Money Issuer (EMI) in the Philippines, and builds digital wallets for itself and other companies.
